Pressure Irrigation
Rajasthan is expanding the share of irrigated area under efficient systems such as drip and sprinkler, targeting a substantial shift from conventional flood irrigation over the next few years, which creates demand for modern equipment.
This opens attractive prospects for manufacturing, assembling and servicing pressure irrigation systems, including pipes, pumps, filters and automation solutions.

Custom Hiring of Farm Machinery
To reduce dependence on human and animal power, the state promotes mechanisation support for small and marginal farmers who cannot afford to purchase machines individually.
There is scope for setting up Custom Hiring Centres across districts, offering tractors, implements and specialized equipment on rental, backed by institutional credit and government facilitation.

Solar Pumps
With some of the highest solar insolation levels on earth and over 325 sunny days annually, Rajasthan is prioritising solar-based irrigation to meet on-farm energy needs reliably. State and central schemes such as PM-KUSUM and dedicated solar pump programmes provide significant capital subsidy, making it an opportune time to invest in solar pump manufacturing, installation, and O&M services for the rapidly growing base of farm users.

Farm Mechanisation
The state is encouraging adoption of modern machinery to increase efficiency and reduce labour requirements across the crop cycle.
Investment is viable in equipment for
- Land preparation
- Moisture conservation
- Seed and fertiliser placement
- Plant protection
- Harvesting
- Post-harvest management
- Grading
- Sorting
- Polishing
- Waxing
- Packaging
- Transport logistics

Fisheries
Rajasthan's numerous water bodies and reservoirs provide scope for expanding inland and culture fisheries. With productivity in some reservoirs exceeding 24 kg per hectare per year, opportunities exist in seed production, feed supply, grow-out farming, cold chain and processing for domestic and institutional markets.

Export-Oriented Agro Products
Rajasthan has export potential in a wide range of crops and products including kinnow, mandarin, fresh vegetables, aonla & its products, spices, seed spices, herbs, honey & its products, garlic (whole and powder), rose oil, dry petals, gulkand, isabgol husk, henna & body-grade henna.

Contract Farming
Amendments to the Rajasthan Agricultural Produce Markets Act, including provisions introduced through the Third Amendment, legally enable contract farming arrangements between producers and buyers.
This framework supports long-term partnerships in crops such as malt barley, fruits, vegetables, medicinal and aromatic plants, offering investment potential in input supply, extension services, buy-back arrangements and value chain infrastructure.

Organic Farming
Large tracts of Rajasthan are naturally low in chemical use, offering a strong base for organic cultivation, with specific regions notified or promoted as organic clusters.
The government supports organic farming through subsidies and promotion schemes, creating opportunities in developing and marketing organic crop produce and for natural farm produce processing and exporting.
